Covid Warrior, Tutor

Bangalore, IN

May 2020 - April 2021

Responsibilities and Community Engagement

In response to the critical needs arising during the Covid-19 pandemic, I volunteered as a Covid warrior, working in association with GiveBack and BBMP (Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike)/ Bangalore Municipal Corporation. My role was pivotal in addressing the heightened vulnerabilities faced by underprivileged children, families, and elderly individuals, ensuring that they had access to necessary food supplies, medical kits, vaccines, and transportation services during this global crisis.

Educational Endeavours

Parallel to the immediate relief initiatives, my commitment extended to fostering educational empowerment. I engaged in conducting tailored tutoring sessions in English and science for high school students from government schools and participated in the creation of supportive educational materials. This ensured students did not miss out on their education and helped provide a step towards academic adaptability amidst the pandemic’s challenges.

Impact

Pandemic Relief: Took an active part in delivering crucial aid and emergency relief to the distressed and affected.

Educational Support: Played a significant role in facilitating learning and fostering academic progress for high school students in challenging times.

Community Resilience: Contributed to strengthening community bonds and enhancing collective resilience in the face of unprecedented adversities.

Reflection

Serving with GiveBack during the pandemic was a transformative and enriching experience. It underscored the imperative of solidarity and the value of every contribution in making a tangible difference. Being a Covid warrior was not just a role but a learning journey, reinforcing my resolve to be an active participant in societal well-being and community upliftment.
